Egypt-updated

Just a quick commentary on a prickly subject. I suspect this is going to end badly..possibly WORSE that badly. What could be worse? Oh...I don't know..what would you say to a completely theocratically [religiously] controlled state. Controlled by radical mullahs and terrorists? Add to that the unrest in other places..the protests in Jordan for instance, and you have a recipe for a disaster of epic proportions. Hell if it goes that far we may very well see the scenario, at least in part, outlined in Mark Steyn's book America Alone.

Either that or a variation on Tom Kratman's dystopic nightmare in Caliphate. Which are basically one and the same as far as nightmare's go.

Such a happy thought to have before bed.

The State of (DIS)Union Pt2.

Okay Children...and awwaaaaay we go again....

In fact, the best thing we could do on taxes for all Americans is to simplify the individual tax code. (Applause.) This will be a tough job, but members of both parties have expressed an interest in doing this, and I am prepared to join them. (Applause.)
Flat. Tax. A flat percentage applied across the board from the poorest to the richest. everyone pays the same percentage of their income. My own math tells me the poor and the middle class will see their taxes rise some. Be that as it may..the "rich" will pay MUCH more. 10 times more at the minimum by my figuring. What? everyone keeps whining about leveling the playing field..THIS does that. So stop whinging like a puling babe who has shat his diaper, when I give you the solution that you SAY you want...or admit that you were full of shit.

So now is the time to act. Now is the time for both sides and both houses of Congress –- Democrats and Republicans -– to forge a principled compromise that gets the job done. If we make the hard choices now to rein in our deficits, we can make the investments we need to win the future.

Ahhh investments..a euphemism for "I'm going to spend your money in ways you don't want me to by increasing the size and scope of the governments power and waste.

Let me take this one step further. We shouldn’t just give our people a government that’s more affordable. We should give them a government that’s more competent and more efficient. We can’t win the future with a government of the past. (Applause.)

Competent and efficient..two words that currently do not belong in the same sentence with the word or concept of GOVERNMENT. Should be though..but not with people who think they're the parents who know better than us. You know US? The "children" that put these pinheads in their places of power?

We live and do business in the Information Age, but the last major reorganization of the government happened in the age of black-and-white TV. There are 12 different agencies that deal with exports. There are at least five different agencies that deal with housing policy. Then there’s my favorite example: The Interior Department is in charge of salmon while they’re in fresh water, but the Commerce Department handles them when they’re in saltwater. (Laughter.) I hear it gets even more complicated once they’re smoked. (Laughter and applause.)

Now, we’ve made great strides over the last two years in using technology and getting rid of waste. Veterans can now download their electronic medical records with a click of the mouse. We’re selling acres of federal office space that hasn’t been used in years, and we’ll cut through red tape to get rid of more. But we need to think bigger. In the coming months, my administration will develop a proposal to merge, consolidate, and reorganize the federal government in a way that best serves the goal of a more competitive America. I will submit that proposal to Congress for a vote –- and we will push to get it passed. (Applause.)

Now this one is a dandy...what we'd like is for those agencies to be defunded and eliminated..the employees sent to the unemployment line. What we'll likely get is some new super agency. You know..like the Department for Homeland Security? Yet another agency we don't need? News flash..Homeland Security is what the Military, National Guard, Coast Guard and Border Patrol are for!

In the coming year, we’ll also work to rebuild people’s faith in the institution of government. Because you deserve to know exactly how and where your tax dollars are being spent, you’ll be able to go to a website and get that information for the very first time in history. Because you deserve to know when your elected officials are meeting with lobbyists, I ask Congress to do what the White House has already done -- put that information online. And because the American people deserve to know that special interests aren’t larding up legislation with pet projects, both parties in Congress should know this: If a bill comes to my desk with earmarks inside, I will veto it. I will veto it. (Applause.)

Sigh...1) the people shouldn't have faith in the government, they should have faith in themselves, and whatever deity they happen to believe in. They do however need to TRUST the people they send to work in the government to represent them with honor, integrity and humility. Something I might add, that the government is still sorely lacking in. 2) Ahhh...yet another "Transparency" promise? Anyone believe our Liar in Chief on this score? I don't. 3)Oh dear lord..you'll veto any earmark laden bill that crosses your desk? Oh. You mean like THIS one?

Yeah. Surrrrre. We believe you......NOT!

The 21st century government that’s open and competent. A government that lives within its means. An economy that’s driven by new skills and new ideas. Our success in this new and changing world will require reform, responsibility, and innovation. It will also require us to approach that world with a new level of engagement in our foreign affairs.

A government that lives within it's means? now there's a novel concept.

Just as jobs and businesses can now race across borders, so can new threats and new challenges. No single wall separates East and West. No one rival superpower is aligned against us.

And so we must defeat determined enemies, wherever they are, and build coalitions that cut across lines of region and race and religion. And America’s moral example must always shine for all who yearn for freedom and justice and dignity. And because we’ve begun this work, tonight we can say that American leadership has been renewed and America’s standing has been restored.

Uhmmm..what WORK have you begun exactly? I'm confused.

Look to Iraq, where nearly 100,000 of our brave men and women have left with their heads held high. (Applause.) American combat patrols have ended, violence is down, and a new government has been formed. This year, our civilians will forge a lasting partnership with the Iraqi people, while we finish the job of bringing our troops out of Iraq. America’s commitment has been kept. The Iraq war is coming to an end. (Applause.)

No thanks to you and your ilk.

Of course, as we speak, al Qaeda and their affiliates continue to plan attacks against us. Thanks to our intelligence and law enforcement professionals, we’re disrupting plots and securing our cities and skies. And as extremists try to inspire acts of violence within our borders, we are responding with the strength of our communities, with respect for the rule of law, and with the conviction that American Muslims are a part of our American family. (Applause.)

*raised eyebrow* Tell me something I don't know Barry old boy. You condescending twit.

We’ve also taken the fight to al Qaeda and their allies abroad. In Afghanistan, our troops have taken Taliban strongholds and trained Afghan security forces. Our purpose is clear: By preventing the Taliban from reestablishing a stranglehold over the Afghan people, we will deny al Qaeda the safe haven that served as a launching pad for 9/11.

Thanks to our heroic troops and civilians, fewer Afghans are under the control of the insurgency. There will be tough fighting ahead, and the Afghan government will need to deliver better governance. But we are strengthening the capacity of the Afghan people and building an enduring partnership with them. This year, we will work with nearly 50 countries to begin a transition to an Afghan lead. And this July, we will begin to bring our troops home. (Applause.)

Grand..bring our troops home before the job is finished. Sounds like a WONDERFUL idea.

In Pakistan, al Qaeda’s leadership is under more pressure than at any point since 2001. Their leaders and operatives are being removed from the battlefield. Their safe havens are shrinking. And we’ve sent a message from the Afghan border to the Arabian Peninsula to all parts of the globe: We will not relent, we will not waver, and we will defeat you. (Applause.)

Yep. Sure. You almost had me believing you that time Barry. Keep working at it.

American leadership can also be seen in the effort to secure the worst weapons of war. Because Republicans and Democrats approved the New START treaty, far fewer nuclear weapons and launchers will be deployed. Because we rallied the world, nuclear materials are being locked down on every continent so they never fall into the hands of terrorists. (Applause.)

Brilliant..while terrorist states like Iran and others scramble to acquire nuclear weapons to hit us..we're going to gut our ability to respond in kind. *facepalm* And if you trust Russia to keep their word on this your an even bigger fool than I thought. We won't even go into the other nations that are trying to get their hands on nukes. *sigh*

Because of a diplomatic effort to insist that Iran meet its obligations, the Iranian government now faces tougher sanctions, tighter sanctions than ever before. And on the Korean Peninsula, we stand with our ally South Korea, and insist that North Korea keeps its commitment to abandon nuclear weapons. (Applause.)

Sanctions? Sanctions are a joke. They don't work..perhaps you've forgotten that was part of the reasoning behind the invasion of Iraq? Because they were laughing at the "sanctions" imposed on them and going about on their merry way. I don't even trust the Iranians..or the North Koreans for that matter, as far as I can throw them. I trust them not at all. They're going to be a headache for many years to come.

This is just a part of how we’re shaping a world that favors peace and prosperity. With our European allies, we revitalized NATO and increased our cooperation on everything from counterterrorism to missile defense. We’ve reset our relationship with Russia, strengthened Asian alliances, built new partnerships with nations like India.

Revitalized Missle Defense? Riiight..this from a US government who caved when we were getting ready to install a missle shield in the country of Georgia because the Russian Gov't screamed blue bloody murder? And what happened after that capitulation? Oh yeah..that's right..the Russians invaded Georgia.

edition.cnn.com/2008/.../04/01/.../index.html
www.washingtontimes.com/.../russias-invasion-of-georgia-what-to-do-about-mosco/

This March, I will travel to Brazil, Chile, and El Salvador to forge new alliances across the Americas. Around the globe, we’re standing with those who take responsibility -– helping farmers grow more food, supporting doctors who care for the sick, and combating the corruption that can rot a society and rob people of opportunity.

Ahhh the same kind of kinder, gentler nation you'd turn us into Mr President?

Recent events have shown us that what sets us apart must not just be our power -– it must also be the purpose behind it. In south Sudan -– with our assistance -– the people were finally able to vote for independence after years of war. (Applause.) Thousands lined up before dawn. People danced in the streets. One man who lost four of his brothers at war summed up the scene around him: “This was a battlefield for most of my life,” he said. “Now we want to be free.” (Applause.)

Great..want to bet they devolve back into warfare, bloodshed, and tribalism within a few years?

And we saw that same desire to be free in Tunisia, where the will of the people proved more powerful than the writ of a dictator. And tonight, let us be clear: The United States of America stands with the people of Tunisia, and supports the democratic aspirations of all people. (Applause.)

Sigh..which is why we're going to gut the military right? I can see this one coming.

We must never forget that the things we’ve struggled for, and fought for, live in the hearts of people everywhere. And we must always remember that the Americans who have borne the greatest burden in this struggle are the men and women who serve our country. (Applause.)

Yes that's true and I salute those brave men and women who fight for it.

Tonight, let us speak with one voice in reaffirming that our nation is united in support of our troops and their families. Let us serve them as well as they’ve served us -- by giving them the equipment they need, by providing them with the care and benefits that they have earned, and by enlisting our veterans in the great task of building our own nation.

Our troops come from every corner of this country -– they’re black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American. They are Christian and Hindu, Jewish and Muslim. And, yes, we know that some of them are gay. Starting this year, no American will be forbidden from serving the country they love because of who they love. (Applause.) And with that change, I call on all our college campuses to open their doors to our military recruiters and ROTC. It is time to leave behind the divisive battles of the past. It is time to move forward as one nation. (Applause.)

Yep and next is going to be putting women in front line ground combat units. This is not going to float..unless you make the women perform to the 'exact' same standards of men. Even then it's going to be..interesting...I'll leave the arguments why to those who have served or are serving to explain why..this is going to be a complete clusterfluck if it goes through. You may not LIKE those arguments but you'd damn well better listen.

We should have no illusions about the work ahead of us. Reforming our schools, changing the way we use energy, reducing our deficit –- none of this will be easy. All of it will take time. And it will be harder because we will argue about everything. The costs. The details. The letter of every law.

Oh you can bet your smiling skinny but we're going to argue.

Of course, some countries don’t have this problem. If the central government wants a railroad, they build a railroad, no matter how many homes get bulldozed. If they don’t want a bad story in the newspaper, it doesn’t get written.

Yep, and those governments are called Dictatorships. Or Communist or Fascist.

And yet, as contentious and frustrating and messy as our democracy can sometimes be, I know there isn’t a person here who would trade places with any other nation on Earth. (Applause.)

Again, something I agree with whole heartedly. I'm stunned...just stunned I tell you.

We may have differences in policy, but we all believe in the rights enshrined in our Constitution. We may have different opinions, but we believe in the same promise that says this is a place where you can make it if you try. We may have different backgrounds, but we believe in the same dream that says this is a country where anything is possible. No matter who you are. No matter where you come from.

Again I'm stunned. Something else that the liar in chief says that I believe? This truly is a time of miracles.*snort*

That dream is why I can stand here before you tonight. That dream is why a working-class kid from Scranton can sit behind me. (Laughter and applause.) That dream is why someone who began by sweeping the floors of his father’s Cincinnati bar can preside as Speaker of the House in the greatest nation on Earth. (Applause.)

That dream -– that American Dream -– is what drove the Allen Brothers to reinvent their roofing company for a new era. It’s what drove those students at Forsyth Tech to learn a new skill and work towards the future. And that dream is the story of a small business owner named Brandon Fisher.

Brandon started a company in Berlin, Pennsylvania, that specializes in a new kind of drilling technology. And one day last summer, he saw the news that halfway across the world, 33 men were trapped in a Chilean mine, and no one knew how to save them.

But Brandon thought his company could help. And so he designed a rescue that would come to be known as Plan B. His employees worked around the clock to manufacture the necessary drilling equipment. And Brandon left for Chile.

Along with others, he began drilling a 2,000-foot hole into the ground, working three- or four-hour -- three or four days at a time without any sleep. Thirty-seven days later, Plan B succeeded, and the miners were rescued. (Applause.) But because he didn’t want all of the attention, Brandon wasn’t there when the miners emerged. He’d already gone back home, back to work on his next project.

And later, one of his employees said of the rescue, “We proved that Center Rock is a little company, but we do big things.” (Applause.)

We do big things.

From the earliest days of our founding, America has been the story of ordinary people who dare to dream. That’s how we win the future.

We’re a nation that says, “I might not have a lot of money, but I have this great idea for a new company.” “I might not come from a family of college graduates, but I will be the first to get my degree.” “I might not know those people in trouble, but I think I can help them, and I need to try.” “I’m not sure how we’ll reach that better place beyond the horizon, but I know we’ll get there. I know we will.”

We do big things. (Applause.)

The idea of America endures. Our destiny remains our choice. And tonight, more than two centuries later, it’s because of our people that our future is hopeful, our journey goes forward, and the state of our union is strong.

Thank you. God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America. (Applause.)

Let us sum up boys and girls:

"We hold these truths to be self evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."

And that last bit boys and girls is where a good chunk of our problems start. See Obama and others like him believe that our government should control our destiny..that everyone should be "equal". Where we differ is our definition of 'equal' To me..just like it says PURSUIT of Happiness. That word 'pursuit' is the critical one. It means your free to chase your dreams of happiness, it does NOT mean you are going to succeed. Obama and those like him believe that everyone should be GIVEN their dreams, at the expense of other peoples happiness in some delusion driven, ego maniacal attempt to make us all EQUAL. Which in the end makes that happiness, to me anyway, meaningless. If you are GIVEN something every time you want it..without having to work or strive for it..you fail to appreciate it, to respect what it means to have actually attained it.

"that to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any form of Government becomes destructive of those Ends, it is the RIGHT of the PEOPLE to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying it's Foundation on such Principles, and organizing it's Powers in such form as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

And there in lies the seeds of the current bloated governments FEAR. They fear that the people have had enough of the abuses of power. Enough of the infringements, attempted and actual, on our Rights. That we may indeed say..screw you..we don't need you anymore. We are self reliant. Reliant on ourselves and our neighbors, you no longer have the consent of the governed. You know longer effect our Safety and Happiness in anything but a negative aspect; because you have gotten to caught up in your acquisition of power and wealth, a purpose for which we did NOT elect you. WE sent you to Washington to represent us for some period of time. Then after a time of service to return to your lives. We DID NOT elect you to play your own games of power, self aggrandizement, nor to see yourselves as our masters. You have forgotten who truly holds the reins, who truly has the power.

THAT is what the last election was about. We the People..no longer trust our servants to actually represent us as we elected them to do. For the last several decades, our government has been slowly erroding our freedoms, seeping into every aspect of our lives. It's time to tell them to take a hike, and fend for ourselves. To be self reliant, to have some self respect. Otherwise...we'll continue down this road of 'bread and circuses' that we're on, and well.....you know how well that ended for the Romans if you've studied history at all.

Be well...and I'll see ya later.

The State of (DIS)Union

Okay boys and girls, virii and germs..here it is..my own reaction to the STate of the Union address given by President Obama...our head, hypocritical, Liar in Chief.

My words in bold obviously. the text I'm reacting to will be in normal font.
And since this is going to run long...It's going to be in 2 parts.Warning..this is a President I detest I'm responding to..there will be sporadic profanity.

It’s no secret that those of us here tonight have had our differences over the last two years. The debates have been contentious; we have fought fiercely for our beliefs. And that’s a good thing. That’s what a robust democracy demands. That’s what helps set us apart as a nation.

No...the only secrets have been kept by you and your democrat cronies. Yes we HAVE fought because you and your democrat controlled congress led by Nancy Pelosi REFUSED to listen.

But there’s a reason the tragedy in Tucson gave us pause. Amid all the noise and passion and rancor of our public debate, Tucson reminded us that no matter who we are or where we come from, each of us is a part of something greater -– something more consequential than party or political preference.

Why do I have a problem believing that you actually believe in that last bit.

We are part of the American family. We believe that in a country where every race and faith and point of view can be found, we are still bound together as one people; that we share common hopes and a common creed; that the dreams of a little girl in Tucson are not so different than those of our own children, and that they all deserve the chance to be fulfilled.
Yes they do Mr President...and you and others have done everything you can to get in the way of those dreams...but we won't hear those words from your lips.

I believe we can. And I believe we must. That’s what the people who sent us here expect of us. With their votes, they’ve determined that governing will now be a shared responsibility between parties.
Noooo..they determined that they don't trust you or the democrats or did you not get that memo?
New laws will only pass with support from Democrats and Republicans. We will move forward together, or not at all -– for the challenges we face are bigger than party, and bigger than politics.
Together or not at all. How odd...this is to me..no different a tone from your comments that the Republicans could now get in the back of the bus. Rosa Parks probably rolled over in her grave at that one by the way, and groaned in disgust.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkBUD92oHyI

At stake right now is not who wins the next election -– after all, we just had an election.
Yeah we know we just had an election and yes..I believe that this is the start of your campaign for the 2012 election. Or don't you remember the Tshirts that were printed up and placed on the backs of all the chairs at the Tuscon Memorial Service with one of your 2008 campaign slogans
www.libertymusings.com/blog/?p=513
At stake is whether new jobs and industries take root in this country, or somewhere else. It’s whether the hard work and industry of our people is rewarded. It’s whether we sustain the leadership that has made America not just a place on a map, but the light to the world.
At stake is whether we'll be freemen, or slaves of the government. Will we be men of liberty and honor as our forefathers, or the government's bitches.

We did that in December. Thanks to the tax cuts we passed, Americans’ paychecks are a little bigger today.
WHAT tax cuts you lying sack of camel dung?! You didn't pass new tax cuts..you voted to uphold the already exsisting tax rates you fork tongued douchebag!
Every business can write off the full cost of new investments that they make this year. And these steps, taken by Democrats and Republicans, will grow the economy and add to the more than one million private sector jobs created last year.
1 million new jobs? Gee...and just how many of them exist only on paper and how many of them are GOVERNMENT jobs?

But we have to do more. These steps we’ve taken over the last two years may have broken the back of this recession, but to win the future, we’ll need to take on challenges that have been decades in the making
broken the recession? dude you don't pay attention to the same financial reports I do.

Many people watching tonight can probably remember a time when finding a good job meant showing up at a nearby factory or a business downtown. You didn’t always need a degree, and your competition was pretty much limited to your neighbors. If you worked hard, chances are you’d have a job for life, with a decent paycheck and good benefits and the occasional promotion. Maybe you’d even have the pride of seeing your kids work at the same company.
That is true..as far as it goes.

That world has changed. And for many, the change has been painful. I’ve seen it in the shuttered windows of once booming factories, and the vacant storefronts on once busy Main Streets. I’ve heard it in the frustrations of Americans who’ve seen their paychecks dwindle or their jobs disappear
Who's fault is that? Look in a mirror Barry, old boy.
-– proud men and women who feel like the rules have been changed in the middle of the game. They’re right. The rules have changed. In a single generation, revolutions in technology have transformed the way we live, work and do business. Steel mills that once needed 1,000 workers can now do the same work with 100. Today, just about any company can set up shop, hire workers, and sell their products wherever there’s an Internet connection.
Not entirely true..first they have to wade through a sea of paperwork and red tape...it AIN'T that easy.

So, yes, the world has changed. The competition for jobs is real. But this shouldn’t discourage us. It should challenge us. Remember -– for all the hits we’ve taken these last few years, for all the naysayers predicting our decline, America still has the largest, most prosperous economy in the world. (Applause.) No workers -- no workers are more productive than ours. No country has more successful companies, or grants more patents to inventors and entrepreneurs. We’re the home to the world’s best colleges and universities, where more students come to study than any place on Earth.

Sigh..a good number of those students are sent here by their respective governments. Or didn't you know that? As to the economy..we are not fully recovered yet.

What’s more, we are the first nation to be founded for the sake of an idea -– the idea that each of us deserves the chance to shape our own destiny. That’s why centuries of pioneers and immigrants have risked everything to come here. It’s why our students don’t just memorize equations, but answer questions like “What do you think of that idea? What would you change about the world? What do you want to be when you grow up?”
True. I'll expound more on this in my second post.

And now it’s our turn. We know what it takes to compete for the jobs and industries of our time. We need to out-innovate, out-educate, and out-build the rest of the world. (Applause.)
By and large we still do. It's just......
We have to make America the best place on Earth to do business. We need to take responsibility for our deficit and reform our government. That’s how our people will prosper. That’s how we’ll win the future. (Applause.) And tonight, I’d like to talk about how we get there.
that with all the government regulations and fees to be paid it's easier for those businesses to go overseas.The government needs to get out of the way.[you will see me repeat this throughout this post}

Our free enterprise system is what drives innovation. But because it’s not always profitable for companies to invest in basic research, throughout our history, our government has provided cutting-edge scientists and inventors with the support that they need.
Again it's not profitable because of red tape regulations fees, penalties and taxes imposed by government retards who think they know better.

That’s what planted the seeds for the Internet. That’s what helped make possible things like computer chips and GPS. Just think of all the good jobs -- from manufacturing to retail -- that have come from these breakthroughs.
Businesses that you penalize for being successful by "raising" their taxes.

Half a century ago, when the Soviets beat us into space with the launch of a satellite called Sputnik, we had no idea how we would beat them to the moon. The science wasn’t even there yet. NASA didn’t exist. But after investing in better research and education, we didn’t just surpass the Soviets; we unleashed a wave of innovation that created new industries and millions of new jobs.
Nasa doesn't really exist now since you gutted it assboy. OTOH privatization is the wave of the future for space travel anyhow. That's my belief anyway.

Already, we’re seeing the promise of renewable energy. Robert and Gary Allen are brothers who run a small Michigan roofing company. After September 11th, they volunteered their best roofers to help repair the Pentagon. But half of their factory went unused, and the recession hit them hard. Today, with the help of a government loan, that empty space is being used to manufacture solar shingles that are being sold all across the country. In Robert’s words, “We reinvented ourselves.”
Gee what drove that recession? Could it have been reckless record spending by the Federal Government? Well..obviously..among other things.

That’s what Americans have done for over 200 years: reinvented ourselves. And to spur on more success stories like the Allen Brothers, we’ve begun to reinvent our energy policy. We’re not just handing out money. We’re issuing a challenge. We’re telling America’s scientists and engineers that if they assemble teams of the best minds in their fields, and focus on the hardest problems in clean energy, we’ll fund the Apollo projects of our time.

Yeah yeah..GREEN technology..

At the California Institute of Technology, they’re developing a way to turn sunlight and water into fuel for our cars. At Oak Ridge National Laboratory, they’re using supercomputers to get a lot more power out of our nuclear facilities. With more research and incentives, we can break our dependence on oil with biofuels, and become the first country to have a million electric vehicles on the road by 2015. (Applause.)

And it still won't be as cost effective or cheap as Gasoline, WHERE does the electricity to power those vehicles come from Barry old boy? Could it possibly be the "Grid"? The Grid that is powered by coal fired, and nuclear power plants? Your going to put yet MORE strain on the grid which without building more Nuclear plants to supply the power, Barry old boy. Without which we will almost certainly cause rolling brown outs..and just flat out, blackouts as the strain of demand becomes too much, because of all those wonderful electrical vehicles. I won't even go into the list of various chemicals that go into those batteries that make them even more toxic to the environment then the supposed "greenhouse gases" the power plants put out.

We need to get behind this innovation. And to help pay for it, I’m asking Congress to eliminate the billions in taxpayer dollars we currently give to oil companies. (Applause.) I don’t know if -- I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but they’re doing just fine on their own. (Laughter.) So instead of subsidizing yesterday’s energy, let’s invest in tomorrow’s.

Great..I don't think they want government money anyway..they just want you to shut up, sit down, stay out of the way and let them work, pump oil, refine it into gasoline and then you can sip up the profits through taxes. Oh and while we're at it..lets cause even more unemployment with a dependence on green and clean energy. [I will post a link later on about this.]

Now, clean energy breakthroughs will only translate into clean energy jobs if businesses know there will be a market for what they’re selling. So tonight, I challenge you to join me in setting a new goal: By 2035, 80 percent of America’s electricity will come from clean energy sources. (Applause.)

Mr President you apparently have a failure to understand reality. No scratch apparently..you live in a dream world. Clean Energy Jobs? I've read multiple articles and seen the multiple charts that prove Clean Energy KILLS jobs because they create less jobs and rehire less people than the so called "dirty industries"They were supposed to replace in the FIRST PLACE!

http://reason.com/archives/2009/12/17/the-green-jobs

Some folks want wind and solar. Others want nuclear, clean coal and natural gas. To meet this goal, we will need them all -- and I urge Democrats and Republicans to work together to make it happen. (Applause.)

Yep..and on the subject of Nuclear we should have had a LOT more plants built in the last 40-50 yrs than we did. Why? because once again the government stuck it's nose where it doesn't belong. They made it more expensive that it's worth to get the necessary permits and inspections to get Nuclear Plants built in the first place. Oh and here's a clue..you get less background radiation off a nuclear plant then you do from a coal fired plant!

http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=coal-ash-is-more-radioactive-than-nuclear-waste

On the subject of Wind and Solar? No we won't even get started on that it's a bad joke.

Maintaining our leadership in research and technology is crucial to America’s success. But if we want to win the future -– if we want innovation to produce jobs in America and not overseas -– then we also have to win the race to educate our kids.

in your case you mean indoctrinate and brain wash.

That responsibility begins not in our classrooms, but in our homes and communities. It’s family that first instills the love of learning in a child. Only parents can make sure the TV is turned off and homework gets done. We need to teach our kids that it’s not just the winner of the Super Bowl who deserves to be celebrated, but the winner of the science fair. (Applause.) We need to teach them that success is not a function of fame or PR, but of hard work and discipline.
Egads..something I agree with you on! Will wonders never cease. Newsflash..the smart kids raised in traditional homes with traditional values already KNOW THIS! Ain't that a shocker?

Our schools share this responsibility. When a child walks into a classroom, it should be a place of high expectations and high performance. But too many schools don’t meet this test. That’s why instead of just pouring money into a system that’s not working, we launched a competition called Race to the Top. To all 50 states, we said, “If you show us the most innovative plans to improve teacher quality and student achievement, we’ll show you the money.”
You give money to schools and they'll piss it away. be better served stuffing it down a rathole. I've commented in the past on the problems with the Public School system..I won't get that long winded again.

Race to the Top is the most meaningful reform of our public schools in a generation. For less than 1 percent of what we spend on education each year, it has led over 40 states to raise their standards for teaching and learning. And these standards were developed, by the way, not by Washington, but by Republican and Democratic governors throughout the country. And Race to the Top should be the approach we follow this year as we replace No Child Left Behind with a law that’s more flexible and focused on what’s best for our kids. (Applause.)

You see, we know what’s possible from our children when reform isn’t just a top-down mandate, but the work of local teachers and principals, school boards and communities. Take a school like Bruce Randolph in Denver. Three years ago, it was rated one of the worst schools in Colorado -- located on turf between two rival gangs. But last May, 97 percent of the seniors received their diploma. Most will be the first in their families to go to college. And after the first year of the school’s transformation, the principal who made it possible wiped away tears when a student said, “Thank you, Ms. Waters, for showing that we are smart and we can make it.” (Applause.) That’s what good schools can do, and we want good schools all across the country.Let’s also remember that after parents, the biggest impact on a child’s success comes from the man or woman at the front of the classroom. In South Korea, teachers are known as “nation builders.” Here in America, it’s time we treated the people who educate our children with the same level of respect. (Applause.) We want to reward good teachers and stop making excuses for bad ones. (Applause.) And over the next 10 years, with so many baby boomers retiring from our classrooms, we want to prepare 100,000 new teachers in the fields of science and technology and engineering and math. (Applause.)

Does no good to hire teachers if all they're doing is teaching to the test. The standardized tests they use to determine whether a child is ready to proceed or not is worthless..since the material that gets taught is for the test and only the test. Our schools are not teaching our children critical thinking skills...just how to repeat things by rote. Mindless automatons..not freethinking individuals

One last point about education. Today, there are hundreds of thousands of students excelling in our schools who are not American citizens. Some are the children of undocumented workers, who had nothing to do with the actions of their parents. They grew up as Americans and pledge allegiance to our flag, and yet they live every day with the threat of deportation. Others come here from abroad to study in our colleges and universities. But as soon as they obtain advanced degrees, we send them back home to compete against us. It makes no sense
It makes perfect sense..they're getting an education on our dime..in a country they don't belong in..and whose ideals by and large they don't believe in. Watch a news report on Cinco De Mayo and other times of the year. They're cheering for the country which is the place of their birth..not the country they live in now.

Now, I strongly believe that we should take on, once and for all, the issue of illegal immigration. And I am prepared to work with Republicans and Democrats to protect our borders, enforce our laws and address the millions of undocumented workers who are now living in the shadows. (Applause.) I know that debate will be difficult. I know it will take time. But tonight, let’s agree to make that effort. And let’s stop expelling talented, responsible young people who could be staffing our research labs or starting a new business, who could be further enriching this nation. (Applause.)
Yes..we need to put about 50-75,000 troops on constant patrols with orders to kill anything coming across. Have armed predator drones, and constant air patrols, etc to control the borders. Everyone talks about "defending our borders" but no one[in the government anyway] wants to do whats actually necessary to do so.

Those "undocument workers" are illegal aliens who broke the law in crossing our borders...and continue to break the law..not paying taxes, getting free health care on our dime..etc. Watch the news..ask the FBI for the crime statistics. I know I'm not shocked at the number of those "undocumented workers" who are actually career criminals, gang banger, drug and gun runners and slavers.. We're not expelling talented responsible young people..we're getting rid of criminals.

he third step in winning the future is rebuilding America. To attract new businesses to our shores, we need the fastest, most reliable ways to move people, goods, and information -- from high-speed rail to high-speed Internet. (Applause.)

Sigh..a rail system that no one really wants. the private companies will attend to extending the internet..it's not in the governments job description.

Our infrastructure used to be the best, but our lead has slipped. South Korean homes now have greater Internet access than we do. Countries in Europe and Russia invest more in their roads and railways than we do. China is building faster trains and newer airports. Meanwhile, when our own engineers graded our nation’s infrastructure, they gave us a “D.”

Not really surprising when so much infrastructure money gets diverted to pork and other pet projects.

We’ll put more Americans to work repairing crumbling roads and bridges. We’ll make sure this is fully paid for, attract private investment, and pick projects based [on] what’s best for the economy, not politicians.

Within 25 years, our goal is to give 80 percent of Americans access to high-speed rail. (Applause.) This could allow you to go places in half the time it takes to travel by car. For some trips, it will be faster than flying –- without the pat-down. (Laughter and applause.) As we speak, routes in California and the Midwest are already underway.

Oh you mean the high speed rail that nobody actually wants Mr. President?

For example, over the years, a parade of lobbyists has rigged the tax code to benefit particular companies and industries. Those with accountants or lawyers to work the system can end up paying no taxes at all. But all the rest are hit with one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world. It makes no sense, and it has to change. (Applause.)

Of course it makes no sense and we've been saying it for years. The number of congresscritters over the years that have been elected that were lawyers and those that have gone on to become lobbyists is mind boggling. Government is the problem yes..but so is the quality of candidates we get shafted with. There's a famous quote from the past..I forget off the top of my head who said it but "first thing we do is kill all the lawyers"

So tonight, I’m asking Democrats and Republicans to simplify the system. Get rid of the loopholes. Level the playing field. And use the savings to lower the corporate tax rate for the first time in 25 years –- without adding to our deficit. It can be done. (Applause.)

2 words..Flat. Tax.

To help businesses sell more products abroad, we set a goal of doubling our exports by 2014 -– because the more we export, the more jobs we create here at home. Already, our exports are up. Recently, we signed agreements with India and China that will support more than 250,000 jobs here in the United States. And last month, we finalized a trade agreement with South Korea that will support at least 70,000 American jobs. This agreement has unprecedented support from business and labor, Democrats and Republicans -- and I ask this Congress to pass it as soon as possible. (Applause.)

Oh wow. Golly Gee..70,000 jobs when your polices have put HUNDREDS of thousands out of work? Well paint me purple and stick a binky in my mouth! *snort*

Now, before I took office, I made it clear that we would enforce our trade agreements, and that I would only sign deals that keep faith with American workers and promote American jobs. That’s what we did with Korea, and that’s what I intend to do as we pursue agreements with Panama and Colombia and continue our Asia Pacific and global trade talks. (Applause.)

To reduce barriers to growth and investment, I’ve ordered a review of government regulations. When we find rules that put an unnecessary burden on businesses, we will fix them. (Applause.)

What do YOU mean by 'fix them' Mr President? I know what *I* mean by fix them...I mean rescind them..delete them from the lawbooks.

But I will not hesitate to create or enforce common-sense safeguards to protect the American people.

You and your kind wouldn't know common sense..if it took a shit in your shoes.

(Applause.) That’s what we’ve done in this country for more than a century. It’s why our food is safe to eat, our water is safe to drink, and our air is safe to breathe. It’s why we have speed limits and child labor laws. It’s why last year, we put in place consumer protections against hidden fees and penalties by credit card companies and new rules to prevent another financial crisis. (Applause.) And it’s why we passed reform that finally prevents the health insurance industry from exploiting patients. (Applause.)

blah blah blah..yakkity yak

Now, I have heard rumors that a few of you still have concerns about our new health care law.
Concerns Mr. President? Concerns doesn't even begin to cover it. We the people told YOU and told CONGRESS, we DID NOT WANT IT! YOU did not listen and rammed it down our throats anyway.
(Laughter.) So let me be the first to say that anything can be improved. If you have ideas about how to improve this law by making care better or more affordable, I am eager to work with you. We can start right now by correcting a flaw in the legislation that has placed an unnecessary bookkeeping burden on small businesses. (Applause.)
This health care law can't be improved..only killed. And the bookkeeping burden you're talking about was something that made even the IRS shit a brick.

What I’m not willing to do -- what I’m not willing to do is go back to the days when insurance companies could deny someone coverage because of a preexisting condition. (Applause.)
*facepalm*...companies exist to provide product for a price and make a profit..NOT to give everything to everyone. That's why they are called BUSINESSES.

I’m not willing to tell James Howard, a brain cancer patient from Texas, that his treatment might not be covered. I’m not willing to tell Jim Houser, a small business man from Oregon, that he has to go back to paying $5,000 more to cover his employees. As we speak, this law is making prescription drugs cheaper for seniors and giving uninsured students a chance to stay on their patients’ -- parents’ coverage. (Applause.)

So I say to this chamber tonight, instead of re-fighting the battles of the last two years, let’s fix what needs fixing and let’s move forward. (Applause.)

Look I feel bad for the guy and you and your ilk are good at pulling out stories like this to try and make us feel guilty about other peoples bad situation. My sympathies to Mr Howard..but, fuck off and stay out of my wallet,Mr President.

We are living with a legacy of deficit spending that began almost a decade ago. And in the wake of the financial crisis, some of that was necessary to keep credit flowing, save jobs, and put money in people’s pockets.
Oh REALLY? And Just whose fault is that Mr President? I can call the cause of the problem with just one word DEMOCRATS! When your attack dog Nancy Pelosi originally took the gavel in 2007 [while George Bush was still in office and I ain't happy with him either] the Debt was 8.6Trillion...give or take a few hundred billion. Since then that number has almost doubled til now it stands as of today at just under $14.1 TRILLION dollars. or 14 trillion, 78billion and change to be exact. Almost 4 trillion of it in the last 2yrs. it was $10.6 trillion the day you were sworn in. That's 3.6 Trillion...in 2yrs. So do the math Mr President. The Dem controlled government has spent 5.5 trillion in the last 5yrs. That's more than half the original debt spent in 5yrs. or as I pointed out in another post..you've ran up half again..a debt that it took 110 congresses, and 40 someodd previous presidents..almost TWO AND A HALF CENTURIES TO RUN UP IN THE FIRST PLACE!

So tonight, I am proposing that starting this year, we freeze annual domestic spending for the next five years. (Applause.) Now, this would reduce the deficit by more than $400 billion over the next decade, and will bring discretionary spending to the lowest share of our economy since Dwight Eisenhower was President.
Yeah great..your going to save $400billion over the next 5years after you've already spent almost $4Trillion. To put it another way... you've spent in the last 2yrs, 10 TIMES what you intend to save over the course of 5yrs? This is bad comedy...notice I'm NOT laughing?

This freeze will require painful cuts. Already, we’ve frozen the salaries of hardworking federal employees for the next two years. I’ve proposed cuts to things I care deeply about, like community action programs. The Secretary of Defense has also agreed to cut tens of billions of dollars in spending that he and his generals believe our military can do without. (Applause.)
Do not get me started on Gates. He's an idiot.

I recognize that some in this chamber have already proposed deeper cuts, and I’m willing to eliminate whatever we can honestly afford to do without. But let’s make sure that we’re not doing it on the backs of our most vulnerable citizens. (Applause.) And let’s make sure that what we’re cutting is really excess weight. Cutting the deficit by gutting our investments in innovation and education is like lightening an overloaded airplane by removing its engine. It may make you feel like you’re flying high at first, but it won’t take long before you feel the impact. (Laughter.)

Nope..but when you keep the throttle up to full power and run out of avgas..your going to crash and burn just as quick.

Now, most of the cuts and savings I’ve proposed only address annual domestic spending, which represents a little more than 12 percent of our budget. To make further progress, we have to stop pretending that cutting this kind of spending alone will be enough. It won’t. (Applause.)

Noooo..really? You're just making some excellent points Mr. President. And the excellent points that are coming out of your mouth 'now'..are exactly the same points the republicans and the Tea Party were yelling at you when we were busy TRYING to get you to exercise some fracking self control!

The bipartisan fiscal commission I created last year made this crystal clear. I don’t agree with all their proposals, but they made important progress. And their conclusion is that the only way to tackle our deficit is to cut excessive spending wherever we find it –- in domestic spending, defense spending, health care spending, and spending through tax breaks and loopholes. (Applause.)

Brilliant, we're in the middle of a war and we're going to gut defense? brilliant strategy Although I do agree we need to change the way the money is spent over at defense..the appropriations process for R&D, and farming out contracts for new equipment is a huge farce.

This means further reducing health care costs, including programs like Medicare and Medicaid, which are the single biggest contributor to our long-term deficit. The health insurance law we passed last year will slow these rising costs, which is part of the reason that nonpartisan economists have said that repealing the health care law would add a quarter of a trillion dollars to our deficit. Still, I’m willing to look at other ideas to bring down costs, including one that Republicans suggested last year -- medical malpractice reform to rein in frivolous lawsuits. (Applause.)
Sigh..WRONG. You shoved rancid meat down our throat in the form of the 'Health Care Bill'. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/jan/26/gop-hearings-put-health-law-oil-spill-under-scruti/

As to 'finally' listening to an idea Republicans had last year. There were several but 2 main big ones. 1. Medical malpractice[tort] reform, and 2. dealing with the fraud and waste already in the system..eliminating it and prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law..those committing the fraud and waste.

To put us on solid ground, we should also find a bipartisan solution to strengthen Social Security for future generations. (Applause.) We must do it without putting at risk current retirees, the most vulnerable, or people with disabilities; without slashing benefits for future generations; and without subjecting Americans’ guaranteed retirement income to the whims of the stock market. (Applause.)
Newsflash..the solution has already been proposed. cut off anyone under 50yrs of age and tell them to take responsibility for their own future..if they're frugal and the government stays the fuck out of the way..they can put away more money in a decade-15years than they did paying into the government ponzi scheme for the last 20-30yrs. Anyone over that age will be kept on the rolls and will get their check..but they're going to work til their retirement. Personally I'd suggest that if possible they find a part time job to supplement their SS income. no more than 20hrs a week. Then a bill to completely phase out and eliminate the SS system and bureaucratic administration in 30-40yrs since it's now going to be obsolete.

And if we truly care about our deficit, we simply can’t afford a permanent extension of the tax cuts for the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans. (Applause.) Before we take money away from our schools or scholarships away from our students, we should ask millionaires to give up their tax break. It’s not a matter of punishing their success. It’s about promoting America’s success. (Applause.)
Sigh...yeah the same wealthiest 2% that pay something like 40% of the taxes? the Same wealthiest 5%[which includes the top 2percenters] that pay around60% of the taxes? Shut the hell up...just because you socialist assbags feel guilty for being successful doesn't mean everyone else does. BTW those top earners own a good number of the businesses. Now, WHAT do you suppose is going to happen when you raise their taxes? If you guessed that they'll just pass the cost along to the consumer..you'd be right on the money..so who gets the shaft? The Wealthy or the blue collar working stiff? I'll take the blue collar working stiff for $1000 Barry.

Here's something to wrap your head around:
Consider the IRS data for 2006, the most recent year that such tax data are available and a good year for the economy and "the wealthiest 2%." Roughly 3.8 million filers had adjusted gross incomes above $200,000 in 2006. (That's about 7% of all returns; the data aren't broken down at the $250,000 point.) These people paid about $522 billion in income taxes, or roughly 62% of all federal individual income receipts. The richest 1% -- about 1.65 million filers making above $388,806 -- paid some $408 billion, or 39.9% of all income taxes

Yeah so tell me again that the Wealthiest aren't paying their fair share again? Barry you and your cronies truly are mental defectives if you think we the taxpayers..[you know..the ones who pay for your exorbitant and wholly unearned salaries?] are that stupid and can't do simple math.
(dropping off now...will post the rest and sum up tomorrow.)

Urban Grounds

yesterday I added Urban Grounds to my blog list and expounded on the wonderfulness of my blogging buddy Robbie. I just went to see what, if anything he had to say in regards to the State of DisUnion address and got this message across the page
THIS ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SUSPENDED

and this URL
http://cp10.myhostcenter.com/suspended.page/

Which makes me wonder..did my buddy get hacked yet again? or did someone get to domain host and get them to kill the account?

I'll see if I can't find out.

The U.N.

Just a quick idle thought for you. I had the other day on UrbanGrounds made a spectacularly nasty comment in regards to a post by Robbie about the UN.
I suggested that I've been in favor of demolishing the UN building with a Tactical Nuke while it's in full session....and blaming it on one of the member nations. Iraq, Iran etc etc.
I also thought about blaming it on France, but as one of my friends on chat last night pointed out, no one would believe it. Seeing as how the French are appeaser's and militarily speaking..couldn't plan their way out of a wet paper sack.

I've amended that thought and had a much better idea. Evict the UN..I don't really care how, make up some diplomatic incident and toss them all out on their ass. Here's the good part. Does anyone besides me miss the old style video game arcades? Well I thought it might be cool to turn the UN building into a 3part mega business. Part gym for those who need a workout before or after work. That portion of the building would be open 24/7. Part Video Game Arcade stocked with all the classics. Dig Dug, Qbert, Pole Position, Cruisin, Mortal Combat, DC vs Capcom, Street Fighter, Dungeons and Dragons, Frogger, Pac-man, Ms. Pac-man, as well as newer ones like House of the Dead and Time Crisis..all 4 Time Crisis games. As well as a number of Air Hockey tables. This portion also to be open 24/7. The last 1/3 of the building? A good old fashioned Pub..with good brews on tap and in the bottle, as well as food to be eaten. Don't know how feasible or profitable it would be..but it's a thought for what to do with the empty building.

*shrug* I dream big sometimes.

Keith Olbermann..senator?

Uhmmmm..that's what some lefty bloggers and activists are hoping. They're launching a campaign to try and get Olbermann to run for Joe Lieberman's seat in connecticut, because Lieberman isn't going to run for re election in 2012.

Here's a foretaste:
The ploy to coax the former MSNBC host into the Democratic Senate primary was hatched by activists attending a conference in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
Facebook and Twitter pages are already active and a website is expected to go up in the coming days.

"We’re using our full set of campaign tools but they won’t go active until we get a little downtime while we’re in D.C.," a blogger by the name of Stranded Wind wrote on the liberal website Daily Kos.

here's the link to the full blog entry on The Hill's blog pages where this was found
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/senate-races/139677-movement-underway-to-draft-olbermann-for-senate-

Notice the one blogger they named is a pants wetting blogger from the Daily Kos?

Senator Keith Olbermann...oh my what bad comedy. Hold on to your heads and your eardrums boys and girls..this is gonna get interesting if he does decide to run.

New Addition

As you can see there is a new addition to my bloglist/roll...of blogs I read. UrbanGrounds is a blogsite run by a fellow Texan. I read him every day.

He posts on everything from politics to pics of his dogs and what they're up to.
He posts on the executions here in Texas. Those are entertaining in the comments they generate, particularly from what we call Thug Lovers. Now for your enlightenment Thug Lovers are exceedingly, insipidly stupid women with low self esteem who pen pal with, and in some cases even marry...the various murders, gang bangers, rapists, and other assorted low lifes in Prisons across the US and on Death Row here in Texas.

He's also been hacked and crashed 3x that I can think of, twice last year, by a group of hackers who support the islamic, syphilitic goat fucking, camel riding, usless ass bag terrorists of the world.

If you like me, you'll like him. I recommend then that you click on the embeddedl link to your left and go check him out.

And now a word from your curlywolf

Okay...it's monday, it's raining outside. It's cloudy and cold. It's going on 1130 and I still haven't eaten breakfast so that's in my plan. But after that...then what? Try and take over the world? Naah..taking over the world sounds like too much effort for a Monday. Maybe I'll just spend the day playing poker instead.

Muslim Terrorists, strike again..

In Russia.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/jan/24/suicide-bomb-moscow-domodedovo-airport

Suicide bombers going 'poof' in Moscow..imagine that. Muslim terrorists have been a thorn in Russia's backside for a long time. I suspect we'll see some saber rattling on the part of the Russian government but not much action, or at least no action that we'll hear/see, on the evening news. In dealing with people who annoy them the Russian government tends to be about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face.

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords..some food for thought

I know no one even wants to think this..considering the miraculous speed with which she's starting to recover but..it's gotta be said. You have to keep in the back of your mind, the chance that she may not be able to return to congress to fulfill her duties. She took a bullet through the brain boys and girls...the fact she's even conscious is miraculous. It may turn out that when they take the trach tube out she'll prove to be her normal self and speechify elequently to her family and then America to prove. However....I've heard no news of her asking for pen and paper [or a whiteboard and erasable dry marker] to communicate with. I say that not to bring you down, or take away from the miracle of it all.
I say it because IF she can't go back and perform her duties , the Arizona will need to hold a special election to fill her seat. Which begs the question..what kind of replacement is the state going to end up with? Who are the likely candidates if this comes to pass?

Citizens carrying guns.

Time and time again..any time a tragic shooting happens. we get the calls for stiffer gun control laws, banning certain types of ammo, guns and accessories.
Virginia Tech, Columbine, The latest shooting of Rep Giffords and 13 others.

Time and time again the same people, liberal democrat politicians[hypocrites almost all because if you do some digging you'll find those screaming the loudest either own and carry guns or...have armed security.] gun control advocates like the Brady Group, Hollywood nitwits, etc, etc ad nauseum..call for gun control.
Now I'm all for control..a good grip..the right breathing technique and gently squeeze the trigger. Don't 'pull' the trigger..you'll only spoil your shot. Time and time again a lot of where these shootings happen are so called "Gun Free" Zones. Schools, shopping centers, government offices. I and others keep TELLING people that "Gun Free Zone equals Target Rich Environment" to the loons out there; and as usual..I and others who say that are held in contempt. Even as we're proven right every single time. Frankly I get sick of it.

One town in Georgia, Kennesaw, in the 80's took a different take on gun control laws. In response to a gun ban in Illinois they passed a city ordinance that required heads of households to own and maintain a gun. The crime rate dropped something like 85-90% overnight and the crime rate has remained ridiculously low..some almost 30yrs later even as the town has grown. Guntown USA..the liberal retards dubbed it. Predicting shootouts between fueding neighbors, children being shot for doing something stupid etc etc ad nauseum. As usual the liberal fucktards were proven wrong in spades.
http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=41196

If you read farther down in the article you'll find that crime rate is lower than it was in 1981 before they passed the law..despite having grown by a multiple of 6. current population is just over 30k. Boggles the mind don't it?

I think if I was ever to consider leaving the great state of Texas[not likely but..never say never] I might consider moving to Kennesaw.

To my fellow citizen who believe in the 2nd Amendment and enjoy shooting..keep your powder dry because considering the news of the lst 2-3 years I think we're in for some truly ugly times. To the liberal communist fucktards whining about guns and trying to bring about the very destruction of this great nation..fuck off and die.

Brett Favre has announced...

that he's retiring once again.....for the 4th time in a row.

http://www.clarionledger.com/article/20110118/COL0504/101180320/99.99+percent+sure+Favre+is+done

Really Brett? are you sure this time? Okay then...I guess I'll have to go get a bucket for all the tears I'm shedding right now because *sniff, sniff* your leaving us you bastard.
Are you surely sure? Because to be quite honest I'm getting tired of your ass. No scratch that..I was tired of your ass the last 2 times you said you were retiring, then changed your mind like a woman changes underwear. This time STAY retired!

*OMG! THEY changed the Zodiac?

Really? How Awful. Yep some bunch of nitwits changed the zodiac chart. Why?
read on macduff : http://www.pbs.org/wnet/need-to-know/the-daily-need/a-zodiac-shift-agitates-some-leaves-the-rest-of-us-unfazed/6394/

and here I was believing a lie for 37years! I'm not truly a Taurus but an Aries! It's just so shocking. Too shocking for words as matter of fact. Can't you tell how badly I'm struggling to find the words to describe my agony? My lack of eloquence on the matter is most disturbing. A pity. I now have to bid a fond farewell to the Sign of the Bull and bid a most reluctant welcome to the sign of the Ram. *sniff sniff, tear tear*

I do think I'm going to cry. .....

Parochial cretins. *snort* Do you really think *I* am going to give a good goddamn about my Astrological Sign?! Really? Well......damn, someone was beat with the stupid stick way too often. Seriously? I don't take it seriously. Although I do find it amusing that according to the 'old' zodiac my sign is the sign of the bull. Why do I find it amusing? Well.....because I tend to go through life like an enraged bull in a china shop, not really giving a damn about the results and consequences. Anyone who truly knows me will agree with that statement. But by the same token..I've never given much credence to the zodiac. Just so much mystic garbage to me.

I know some people believe otherwise. *shrug* It's a free country, that's your perogative. I'm just as free to think you are exceedingly silly and weird.

Lets Discuss Civility.

Or not. Last night I made the mistake of watching the Tuscon Memorial service. That was NOT a memorial service in my book. It was..IMNSHO...a liberal rally. Such speakers at a memorial service as Eric Holder[Obama's AG, Janet Napolitano[oh look ANOTHER obama appointee], a couple others and President Obama himself. What did they all have in common? They all spoke about raising the civility level in the political discourse and dialing down the rhetoric. Uhmmm excuse me? The only ones really raising the roof on that score have been the liberal majority and the democrat party's propaganda arm, otherwise known as the Main Stream Media. Telling lies, outright lies and goddamn lies.

THE ONLY Obama-ite who should have been there was President Obama himself. None of his cabinet ministers etc. The only ones who should have spoken at that memorial were friends and family members of the victims...everyone else should shut the hell up and sit the hell down. Politicians have no place at a memorial for murder victims..they only use it as a meet, greet, political hammering session. As was proved last night.

The ones raising the rhetoric level are those on the left. Don't believe me? Go look up ANY article posted that day about the shooting, a short while after the shooting..and VERY shortly after that, in the comments section, will be statements that it's Sarah Palin's fault, it's Rush Limbaugh's fault, It's Bush's fault, Its the fault of the Tea Party and their hate speech[snort], it's the fault of talk radio, It was a conspiracy headed by Karl Rove, etc etc ad nauseum. No I didn't actually see that last one but I have no doubt it's out there. I can only stand to wade thru so much sewage and stupidity, without wanting to beat the crap out of people who are obviously entirely too stupid to be allowed to breathe the same air as the rest of us. Then there were the idiots on the left using this tragedy as a political hammer to call for yet MORE gun control/gun grab laws. *facepalm*
Lets see..it's come out in the last couple of days that gee...Loughner has had it in for Rep Giffords since 2007...before Sarah Palin ever came on the national scene. Gee big freakin shock.

Let's look at the hit parade of vitriolic rhetoric and down right BONEHEADED STUPIDITY that's come out of the democratic party and the liberal press in the last couple years shall we?

There's this famous bit of idiocy from Alan Grayson

www.politico.com/news/stories/0909/27726.html

This bit of wisdom:
"This war represents an epic failure, a national embarrassment and a moral blight." - Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA)

Then there's this one from Mother Jones correspondent Adam Weinstein:
Of course, political conservatives have a vested interest in keeping this myth going. If the military is perceived as no place for dissent, for entrepreneurship, for innovative thought, then the majority of people who are likely to volunteer for military service will be politically conservative, agreeable, uninnovative thinkers. And since they're all heroes© for signing up, we nasty civilians will customarily defer to them in all matters, and our society will remain fundamentally conservative.

A list of winners from Nancy Pelosi compiled by my friends over at Black Five:
http://www.blackfive.net/main/2011/01/pelosis-quotes.html#more

President Obama himself gave us this winner..:

This bit of genius:

Yep the liberals of the democratic party have sure raised the civility level alright. *snort*

Oh and just as a final note: who has raised the national debt by more than 4 TRILLION dollars in the last two years? Obama and the democrat controlled congress..that's who. it was at just under..or right at, 10 Trillion when he came into office. It is now as of this very second 14.03 Trillion. [thats 14 trillion, 34 billion and change by the way. how do I know? I have the link to the real time debt clock saved in my bookmarks. I check it between every few weeks to every month or so.] Boggles the mind don't it? Now just for comparison it took all the preceeding congresses and presidents .. 233 YEARS..to run up 10 trillion dollars of debt. Think about that..Obama, and the Pelosi led, democrat ruled, congress..have run up almost half the preceding debt total in 2yrs as it took 110 preceding congresses 233 years to run up!!!

unbelievable...but true..and just a total mind blower.

Rep Garbrielle Gifford [Arizona] Shot!.

Yep another crazed gunman went off. Nothing is known about him at this time except his name Jared Laughner, that and the fact he shot 14 people. 5 of whom are at this time confirmed dead..including a 9yr old girl. Sigh..I will now wait for the very swift to come calls..for tougher gun laws. Now to counteract that may I point out that it wasn't the cops who took this man down..but Citizens..one of whom was *gasp!* armed and returned fire...thereby allowing a couple others to tackle this gunman and hold him til the cops could arrive? Haven't watched the other channels coverage of this..just Fox..however..I seriously doubt that little factoid is getting much play on the Massively Stupid Media channels like MSNBC, CNBC, CNN and elsewhere. After I post this I'll do a little websurfing and see if there is already a resurgence of calls for tougher gun control laws by the retarded left bloggers.

Edit 1/9/2011 930am:
Christina Taylor Greene. Aged 9. Aspiring politician/citizen jurist, just elected to her student council. Born September 11, 2001. Murdered January 8, 2011.
*sigh*...She flies with the angels now.

Time to start stocking up on incandescent bulbs

Why do I say this? because after 2012 the sale of same will be banned. In favor of CFL bulbs. You know? The bulbs that look like [as my friend over at Common Cents says] looks like a Curly Fry? Made in China and filled with mercury?

I do think I'm going to start and start soon..as in immediate, to buy in bulk and hoard incandescent bulbs.
Read this interesting entry from my friend over at the Common Cents blog:

http://commoncts.blogspot.com/2011/01/curly-fry-light-bulb-cleanup-checklist.html

now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go figure out a rough figure of how much this is gonna cost me.
