Doctors and Health Care

This is beautiful. I'd like to thank my friend JC for posting this:
"“I quit when medicine was placed under State control some years ago,” said Dr. Hendricks. “Do you know what it takes to perform a brain operation? Do you know the kind of skill it demands, and the years of passionate, merciless, excruciating devotion that go to acquire that skill? That was what I could not place at the disposal of men whose sole qualification to rule me was their capacity to spout the fraudulent generalities that got them elected to the privilege of enforcing their wishes at the point of a gun. I would not let them dictate the purpose for which my years of study had been spent, or the conditions of my work, or my choice of patients, or the amount of my reward. I observed that in all the discussions that preceded the enslavement of medicine, men discussed everything—except the desires of the doctors. Men considered only the ‘welfare’ of the patients, with no thought for those who were to provide it. That a doctor should have any right, desire or choice in the matter, was regarded as irrelevant selfishness; his is not to choose, they said, but ‘to serve.’ That a man who's willing to work under compulsion is too dangerous a brute to entrust with a job in the stockyards—never occurred to those who proposed to help the sick by making life impossible for the healthy. I have often wondered at the smugness at which people assert their right to enslave me, to control my work, to force my will, to violate my conscience, to stifle my mind—yet what is it they expect to depend on, when they lie on an operating table under my hands? Their moral code has taught them to believe that it is safe to rely on the virtue of their victims. Well, that is the virtue I have withdrawn. Let them discover the kind of doctors that their system will now produce. Let them discover, in the operating rooms and hospital wards, that it is not safe to place their lives in the hands of a man they have throttled. It is not safe, if he is the sort of man who resents it—and still less safe, if he is the sort who doesn’t.”

-- Ayn Rand, from Atlas Shrugged, published in 1957

Does anyone want to bet some of our doctors, don't take this attitude and quit? I know my own GP said while the bill was being argued over for the last 6mos that he'd quit if it passed. He's almost 80yrs old and was planning on retiring in 3 more years anyway. Now that it is passed...I do believe I'm gonna lose my GP. TRULY gonna suck. Because now I'll get to pay $100 a pop just for a GP office visit, when I find a new one.

States start lining up to fight health care..

We keep telling those assholes in congress they don't have the consent of the governed, that what they are trying to do with healthcare and epa regs etc..are unconstitutional and to fucking stop it already. Maybe this will wake them up. I doubt it though..the fuckers are too power hungry to care.

NY legistlature tries to ban SALT

I shit you not. Dimwitocrat Felix Ortiz of Brooklyn proposes a bill that says
"No owner or operator of a restaurant in this state shall use salt in any form in the preparation of any food for consumption by customers of such restaurant, including food prepared to be consumed on the premises of such restaurant or off of such premises," the bill, A. 10129 , states in part.

May the NY state legislature be destroyed by God and may Ortiz be as stupid as Lot's wife and look back to be turned into a pillar of salt. Then we can use the fucktard to cook with and eat in peace.

Because frankly..I feel more and more like I'm living in a movie. The movie? Demolition Man starring Sly Stallone and Wesley Snipes
If more laws like this are proposed..AND passed then you can, to paraphrase Sly just put me back in the motherfucking fridge.

Insulting politicians and political correctness..

I belong to a webboard. Well, actually I belong to a couple...but the one I'm referring to I just joined in the last couple months. We have several threads going in which I've referred to politicians in general and some of the bills some of them attempt to pass are..retarded. Now the board admin has gone thru,,deleted 2 of the threads I've started and edited several of my posts in which I am admittedly ..highly insulting. And call our politicians retards. This ANNOYS me. If you're going to go thru life afraid to speak your mind or allow OTHERS to speak their minds on/in a public or even NON public forum; because something they said MIGHT be found offensive by someone, then...... WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT OF HAVING FREE SPEECH YOU FUCKING RETARDS?!

After I post this I will do another post that tells the story of the story that set me off to calling yet MORE politicians RETARDS.

Mich\ael Vick wins Courage Award

Wouldn't that be like some women's rights group giving Tiger a 'Love and Fidelity' Award?
