I know no one even wants to think this..considering the miraculous speed with which she's starting to recover but..it's gotta be said. You have to keep in the back of your mind, the chance that she may not be able to return to congress to fulfill her duties. She took a bullet through the brain boys and girls...the fact she's even conscious is miraculous. It may turn out that when they take the trach tube out she'll prove to be her normal self and speechify elequently to her family and then America to prove. However....I've heard no news of her asking for pen and paper [or a whiteboard and erasable dry marker] to communicate with. I say that not to bring you down, or take away from the miracle of it all.
I say it because IF she can't go back and perform her duties , the Arizona will need to hold a special election to fill her seat. Which begs the question..what kind of replacement is the state going to end up with? Who are the likely candidates if this comes to pass?
