Because I MUST be a Sadomasochist to read this crap..

What am I referring to?  This bunch of idiots.. the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.  That is of course their facebook page. They DO have a regular web page.   But I wade through the mass idiocy and lack of logic on their FB page on an almost daily basis. I don't post there for two reasons. 1. I've been blocked...though I can still read the page. 2.  Dissenting opinions are deleted. Especially those using actual hard numbers and facts.  Wouldn't want to interrupt the group think now would we?  I got blocked and had my comments deleted in a matter of hours. A reader of a page I co run on FB was deleted and blocked..IN 4 MINUTES  flat. My friend who started the page I co run with him..actually mostly me runs it at this point, though he does pop in from time to time; was blocked and deleted in about 20 minutes by these paragons of open mindedness.   There is a comment posted in the following, and he is the lone exception that I know of to the rule of not being deleted.
Any way...for instance...they take a Triple murder suicide like this and.....
"Another deadly mass shooting ... New Jersey supermarket employee leaves shift, returns to store with AK-47 and kills 2 co-workers and himself. The victims were 18-year-old Cristina LoBrutto and 24-year-old Bryan Breen. The gunman, Terence S. Tyler, was a 23-year-old former Marine."

Really? A triple murder-suicide is all the sudden considered a "mass shooting" now?  I don't think so, you deceitful dilletantes.  Words have meaning, and you twist them to suit your agenda. Bending the definition this way and that way until it means what you want it to mean, instead of what it actually  means.

Then there are the wastes of oxygen that believe as you do and espouse even more stupidity.

I would point out Earl that the Bow and Arrow were the Guns, the "assault weapons" of their day. They were the great equalizer because peasants could own them, this among other things, allowed them to throw the boots of the tyrants from their necks.  To live as Free Men...instead of slaves.  Lackluster lackwits like yourself would have left the peasants in servitude.

Guns in fact DON'T kill people. They are cold, inanimate objects, with no will of their own. No brain...of their own.  It takes a thinking, warm blooded HUMAN to load them and pull their triggers.  A gun is a tool and that's all it is.   Oh and Mark?  I don't blame you. You're just a sheep, being led to the slaughter. I blame the rustlers using the sound of gun fire to terrify you into their slaughterhouses.  On second thought...yes I do blame you Mark...because unlike the 4 legged sheep, YOU have higher brain functions that are supposed to allow you to think for yourself.

Yes Nana, they would occur because as we have tried to tell you...criminals are criminals because they don't obey the law. never have, never will. THAT is why we call them CRIMINALS!   Oh and having a national register will allow for a tyrannical government to more easily round up the guns that those of us who believe in freedom, would use to defend our families, our homes and ourselves.

Fine you uneducated, over emotional fool. Move to someplace like Rwanda instead. Where the greatest Mass Murder in recent history was perpetrated over the course of 100 days...with machetes!  Over 800,000 people hacked to death.

So because people, a great many of us actually...are acting on our first amendment rights to point out that our government is turning more and more tyrannical over time.  That we may in the end be forced by circumstances to do something we'd by and large, like to avoid doing.....we're hateful, bigoted unpatriotic nuts?    Sigh...Do you remember the opening of the Declaration of Independence, Cathy?

Oh and did I mention boys and girls that there are those on CSGV who support the second amendment...with  a few provisos that are just as....wrong, in the way they state things regarding the 2nd Amendment and "Gun violence"?

The following is an opening sentence of just ONE of the comments made by this Gentlemen...who I've gone back and forth with on twitter before.  Gone back and forth and discussed pretty cordially I might add.  So I was a bit shocked to see the following statement leave his keyboard....

Gun violence is an absolute epidemic in this country."'s an epidemic now Joshua?   No it's not, far from it in point of fact.  Hell Brazil leads us in Murder alone by a factor of 5.   They are running right around 50,000 murders per year in that country.  2011...they set a new record of over 52,000 of them.  Now how many of those were gun related I don't know...don't really care either.  But for comparison in 2010 we had 14,700 murders, of which around 10,000 of them were homicide using a gun.. At a time when the Census tells us the Population was 308,746,000 million.  BTW...the murder rate hadn't been that low since 1969, when there were 14,762 murders, and with one third less the population!  Dirty little secret...the murder rate for the last 20yrs has been slowly dropping.  But you will not hear that from the Gun Control lobby.  From the federal justice agencies, from the main stream media outlets...
See...they FEED on the blood.  They thrive on it.  It allows them to use FEAR to control the people. To stampede the people into doing something they wouldn't do, IF they were thinking critically and rationally.  To give up their rights to free speech and self defense.....because without the 2nd...the 1st wouldn't be possible.
   Honestly I don't know what people find so hard to grok about such a stupid simple concept.  It drives me nuts.   I could go on but, I think I'll just link you to the two recent posts I did on Murder.

edit: 530 pm 9/3/12*facepalm*  Oh man I love this comment just posted a few hours ago on this post on CSGV:Craig Hexham ‎@Sarah M. Hench, thank you for the few words of caring on this very lengthy thread. However, while I agree that there are people who may be grieving and/or enraged about this ongoing violence, there should be very few who are shocked. I certainly am not and anyone who is attentive to such matters is not shocked by what has become commonplace and even expected. Until WMD are removed from citizen access, this will continue and informed people should continue to expect such occurrences. If there is shock, it should be that people in this country care so little for their peers.

Okay so firearms are Weapons of Mass Destruction, now? 

The anti gun lobby and anti gun supporters says stupid shit like this, calls us gun owners "terrorists who should be rounded up" and WE'RE the unreasonable ones?  WTF?   God how I despise these hypocritical asshats.

Now...if you add in suicides by firearm and accidental discharges that result in death...the latter of which there are less than a thousand a year...then the number of  "death by gun" is around 25-28,000.   It's STILL insignificant when you consider the SIZE of the population of the United States of America. In a nation of, as of now, over 310 million; of which 250 million or a quarter of a billion people are adults over the age of 19?  the death rate involving guns is infinitesimal.   In point of fact the percentage of population killed by firearms each year is .009%  Do you understand that number?  That's 9 thousandths of one percent of the population!  Waaay less than one percent.  WHY are we as a nation...nooo strike that, why are YOU as a free people, allowing  a VERY small number of other people who want to control you, to use your fear, your...irrational do just that?   It boggles the mind.

I wade through that kind of  aforementioned abject stupidity, nearly every day.  I really must be a closet masochist to endure that stupidity willingly. *headshake*
