Brutal.
I've twice now ran across books with a *really* nasty idea of how to stop the drug problem. In the latest novel I've read with this idea..the character just suggests it. In the older one the villain of the book actually goes through with it. Read and boggle.
In the novel in which the character actually goes through with it he has a problem..he has to find a slow acting toxin and figure out where in the chain to intro it into the supply. since they use gasoline in the process of making coke..he intro's it into the gas. It's slow acting [about a week..maybe 2 IIRC] and lethal as hell. He watched before hand to figure out how long it would take to get into the distribution chain and hit US shores. He then made up bulletins to send to the papers anonymously to warn the drug users this poisoned crap was coming..go find help and get off of it or suffer the consequences. The druggies of course don't believe him and start dying off..in job lots. He then plans to lay low for a while to see what happens. Where the demand goes next in the drug world. He actually figured it would be heroin that would get a jump in sales next IIRC. Alas one of the other drugs they decide to spike is E and one of his minions jumps the gun and starts selling their supply of the poisoned pills. BEFORE the furor over the poisoned coke has a chance to go away and give the users/addicts a false sense of security. 'hey it was just coke they poisoned, no problem.'
Anyway...the idea obviously, was to get people to stop using drugs since going after the growers and sellers doesn't accomplish jackshit as long as there is demand, there will ALWAYS be growers and suppliers and those willing to become both. They figured out that if you took the addicts/users out of the equation, either through their fairly painful deaths or their checking into rehab to get off the shit; the problem of the growers and distributors would solve itself and go away. no money, no profit. whats the point of growing and selling the shit right?
A thought provoking, utterly brutal and ugly concept. Oh as a side effect of the poison drugs...strays and family pets start disappearing because the druggies are using the poor animals to test the stuff they buy on the animals. to make sure its not poisoned. if the animal survives all well and good. if not..'hey man you sold me bad shit!' Instead of getting help of course. In the novel by the end..IIRC drug use across the board, dropped off and stayed dropped off by about 80%

Austin Plane Crash
What? haven't heard the news? A taxpayer finally blew his lid and decided to strike at the government..by crashing a plane into a building that houses the office of the IRS in Austin.
Shocking? Hmmm..kinda sorta. We've got a government who..no matter which party is in charge, doesn't really pay much attention to the taxpayers. You know..the rest of us poor schlubs who make their wholly unearned and obscenely exorbitant salaries possible?
In the current administration we've got a government who is blithely spending us into 3rd world status and utter bankruptcy. You've heard the pundits and businessmen who will tell you "Hell my GRANDCHILDREN won't be able to pay off this debt we're incurring let alone make the monthly payments." Sadly..I think that's being sunshiney about the whole thing.
We've got a government who we tell 'Stop Spending and Lower Taxes Dammit!' You see em doing that? Neither do I.
I could go one with examples but why bother.
My only shock about Stack blowing his top and striking at a government he likens to jack booted thugs, is that it didn't happen sooner.
Sadly..I think it's just a foreshadowing of the bad days I can see coming. I am not real thrilled about this either.

Tiger Woods
There's all this big media brouhaha over the pending Tiger Woods news conference. "What will he say?" "Will Elin be there and say she's standing by her man?" Since there is a tournament on tomorrow is he saying "Yeah I'll just schedule my news conference in the middle of your golf tourney and we'll see who gets the viewers and ratings?" Yada, YAda, so on and so forth.
They did a man on the street type thing on ESPN Sportscenter today. The very last person they asked about Tiger Woods was an elderly black gentlemen. His reaction? I don't remember the exact qoute but..'Tiger Woods? We've got bigger things in the world to worry about so why are you making THIS your major story?'
That's pretty much my own reaction. We've got bigger fish to fry, the war on terror for one, and Iran working on getting nukes for another. [not that either one of those is a shock to any one with a functioning brain.

This poll says that only 6%, think that the almost 1 TRILLION dollar stimulus package, actually created jobs. Oh only about $270 billion of that money has been spent. Gee now why could that be? Holding on to it for election engineering purposes demotwits?

A damn good read
I present to you the novel LIVE FREE OR DIE by John Ringo. The first in trilogy called Troy Rising. A story for our time..hell for ALL times. I will give to you first, a quote from near the beginning of the book..

Commentary on the news of the day, week..whatever
I'm going to give you a minute to decide whether you want to read this. Since I AM thoroughly pissed at that moment and I am gonna cuss and let it hang out.

First I give you my current thoughts on The Christmas Day bomber..now forever renamed by me as 'The Wangless Bomber'. In a fit of unbelievable stupidity the Fibies [thats FBI for those who don't know nicknames] mirandized Mr Wangless withing 45 goddamn minutes. Here's the kicker,, Mr Wangless has apparently told them that he has info on more planned attacks.
My commentary..are you guys REALLY that goddamn stupid? He should have been handed over to the military for a military tribunal as an enemy combatant. Now the ONLY way we'll get the 'information' Wangless supposedly has is to give the little fucker a plea deal! Whether he actually has any info is debatable. However if he has it, we NEED it. AAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!
In a FURTHER fit of un FUCKING believable stupidity in regards to KSM and his accomplices. Press pansy Gibbs..the mouthpiece of the Obama Admin went on NATIONAL fucking television sunday morning and said 'They [refrering to KSM and his boys] will be tried, found guilty and he WILL be executed' no if ands or buts, but a declarative statement that the trial and all the rest are merely a formality..that it's already in the cards. *HEADDESK HEADDESK HEADDESK*
My commentary: Hey Fucktards..are you TRYING to get the goddamn case thrown out? Because I can gauran-fucking-ty you that the defense attorneys for these islamic assholes will try and do just that saying that; A. the statement was prejudicial and that, B. since it was said on national goddamn television, it means there is no where that KSM can get a fair trial. Odds that it will get thrown out? I Don't know..but I know Obama's mouthpiece just fucking increased the odds..in favor of the islamic terrorists. Now isn't that lovely? Gee I can think of so many...entertaining ways to thank Mr Gibbs properly.
Obama's budget..he's proposing an almost $4 trillion budget for 2010. Best commentary I've heard so far from a business analyst today on Fox, "The Obama administration is spending money like a drunken sailor. The difference being, the SAILOR can't spend money he doesn't have!" Oh so true.
Its coming out today that James O'Keefe..the young filmmaker who showed us ACORN's true colors was arrested. That part isn't new news. What is new news is that it's now coming out that he was held for 28hrs without being able to talk to a lawyer or make a phone call. Lets get this straight..a terrorist gets arrested and mirandized and is lawyered up in less than 24hrs; and has his wholly unearned rights in force. Yet one of our own citizens is held incommunicado for 28hrs before being allowed his phonecall or a lawyer? What. The. FUCK?! I'll be watching Fox tonight to hear more on this.
