Good question. Here's the short answer. It's a massive crockpot full of shit on high temp that's stinking up the whole house and a misnomer.

Race, is a massive crock of shit. A false bill of goods. Snake oil sold to the unwitting and in some cases the willfully ignorant, by a nest of snakes. A great many of them in political office. Lets not get me started on what I'd like to do to most politicians. It's graphic and ugly.
What most people refer to as "race" is in point of fact, my fellow germs and virii..Tribe. Ergo 'racism' is 'tribalism'. In other words, differences of opinion and fighting between the various tribes of man. There are as many different tribes and kinds of tribes as...well I won't say as there's stars in the sky, or fish in the sea because that would be an exaggeration. However there's a just a whole lot of different tribes and kinds of tribes out there in the world of man.
Tribalism has existed among man since we first separated from our ape ancestors and came down out of the trees. Sociologically it all breaks down to tribe in one form or another. In the micro scale you see it as loyalty and relationship of family. Blood relations. Your mother, your father, your sisters and brothers. Next scale up is extended family, Aunts, uncles, cousins etc. In times past to make or preserve peace or for varying other reasons...one family would marry into another by bonding their sons and daughters. Thereby making, keeping the peace, cementing ties of friendship and power...the reasons for marriage are varied throughout history and that's a whole different discussion on it's own.
Here's another example of tribe. The social tribes. Folks who get together for love or enjoyment of one form of art, or what they consider art or another. Love of machines like cars. Enjoyment in collecting something like guns, knives, books, musical instruments etc etc ad nauseum. Sports fans are another tribe, choosing to belong to a tribe that share's their love and enjoyment of a game. Cosplayers, Gamers, Geeks, all different tribes with one thing in common. Their love of and enjoyment in sharing what they love with others who feel as they do. They are tribes of choice. They choose to belong to that tribe.
What else are the military branches but tribes. Navy, Marines, Army, Air Force etc. Tribes that give up something, time, some freedoms and time for themselves for their the smaller tribe, their family to join a larger tribe, the military as a whole, in order to serve the greater good for an even GREATER tribe. In other words their nation. They sacrifice some of the smaller tribal needs for the needs of the greater tribe, the nation.
Nation or nationality is tribalism in Macro or large scale...simplest way I can put it.
Tribes all have varying desires, wants, needs and are GOING to clash. It's just nature. all nature wars on itself. Plants will strive to grow faster, grow off to the side or even strangle their competitors for sunlight to grow. Small fish are hunted and eaten by other fish, who in turn are hunted by something else right on up the chain. Insects war among each other for territory and sustenance and supplies for the larder, for the good of that insect tribe. There isn't but one race, the human race, all else is tribalism. Once you accept that...[or happen to have a low tolerance for bullshit from the get go] it's a little easier to deal with the "race baiters", and those who cry "racism, racist, hater...etc etc.". They are in it not to better their tribe but for the betterment of themselves at the EXPENSE of their tribe and everyone else. It's also a lot of fun to make their heads explode when you explain this stuff to them. the apoplexy, oh my god the faces turned purple with rage...is down right amusing. I keep waiting for their heads to explode in the most literal sense of the word, from blood pressure alone, but I keep getting disappointed. Oh well. I can live with that I suppose.

A friend of mine on facebook, sweet lady, went to purchase a brand new car today. They required the names and telephone numbers of 3 people, one of whom could not live at the same address. When she asked why, she was told...because they had to run the names by DHS to make sure they weren't on some watch list or another. She said they spent quite a bit of time waiting and wonders how much of that was waiting for DHS to come back with an answer. Yes apparently such a requirement exists. It was a part of the Patriot Act signed by Bush the 2nd. It's called the International Money Laundering Abatement and Anti Terrorist Financing Act.
The laws enacted are collectively identified as the Customer Identification Programs for Financial Transactions.
Used to be you had to do a credit check, if your credit was good the banks financed you. If not they either wouldn't, period dot, or wouldn't without a co signer and a decent down payment.
Now you gotta give 3 names and phone number and be run by DHS to see if you are on a watch list? The terrorists and the those intent on grabbing power for power's sake in this country....have won the last several rounds. I just don't know folks

FACT SHEET: New Executive Actions to Reduce Gun Violence
Today, the Obama administration announced two new common-sense
executive actions to keep the most dangerous firearms out of the wrong
hands and ban almost all re-imports of military surplus firearms to
private entities. These executive actions build on the 23 executive
actions that the Vice President recommended as part of the comprehensive
gun violence reduction plan and the President unveiled on January 16,
2013.
Even as Congress fails to act on common-sense proposals, like
expanding criminal background checks and making gun trafficking a
federal crime, the President and Vice President remain committed to
using all the tools in their power to make progress toward reducing gun
violence. Building on the 23 Executive Actions the President and Vice President Unveiled Last January
Last December, the President asked the Vice President to develop a
series of recommendations to reduce gun violence. On January 16, 2013,
they released these proposals, including 23 executive actions. With the
first Senate confirmation of an ATF Director on July 31, 2013, the
Administration has completed or made significant progress on 22 of the
23 executive actions. The new executive actions unveiled today build on
this successful effort.
Closing a Loophole to Keep Some of the Most Dangerous Guns Out of the Wrong Hands
Current law places special restrictions on many of the most dangerous
weapons, such as machine guns and short-barreled shotguns. These
weapons must be registered, and in order to lawfully possess them, a
prospective buyer must undergo a fingerprint-based background check.
However, felons, domestic abusers, and others prohibited from having
guns can easily evade the required background check and gain access to
machine guns or other particularly dangerous weapons by registering the
weapon to a trust or corporation. At present, when the weapon is
registered to a trust or corporation, no background check is run. ATF
reports that last year alone, it received more than 39,000 requests for
transfers of these restricted firearms to trusts or corporations.
Today, ATF is issuing a new proposed regulation to close this
loophole. The proposed rule requires individuals associated with trusts
or corporations that acquire these types of weapons to undergo
background checks, just as these individuals would if the weapons were
registered to them individually. By closing this loophole, the
regulation will ensure that machine guns and other particularly
dangerous weapons do not end up in the wrong hands.
Keeping Surplus Military Weapons Off Our Streets
When the United States provides military firearms to its allies,
either as direct commercial sales or through the foreign military sales
or military assistance programs, those firearms may not be imported back
into the United States without U.S. government approval. Since 2005,
the U.S. Government has authorized requests to re import more than
250,000 of these firearms.
Today, the Administration is announcing a new policy of denying
requests to bring military-grade firearms back into the United States to
private entities, with only a few exceptions such as for museums. This
new policy will help keep military-grade firearms off our streets.

Besides you people have heard most everything I would have said already. Since I've said a good bit of it REPEATEDLY on this here blog. So as I said, I refrained from doing so. I don't know why. I probably shouldn't have in retrospect. Since one of the outlets for my temper at the stupidity of my fellow man is this blog. Needless to say sitting on my temper ain't improved it much, so mayhap I'll go back to writing on this thing on a regular basis. OTOH maybe it will only be semi regular. B. The local DA refused to press charges. because
C. all the evidence they had supported his story!

The race baiters shit stain boils on the ass of humanity like the Wrong Reverends Sharpton and Jackson started screaming racism, THEN that useless quisling dipshit we have for a president opened his lips and wagged his forked tongue and added to the flames by saying "if I had a son, he could have been Trayvon Martin"...
Oh and from the beginning the Progressive Propaganda Ministry deliberately misrepresented both Zimmerman and that thuggish, gang banger wanna be Trayvon all over the 24hr news outlets and local news. IOW, those misrepresentations WERE lies. They WERE propaganda...to forward the narrative that George Zimmerman was an evil racist white man who hunted down a helpless young black boy just like the KKK to lynch him. and that Trayvon was an innocent 12yr old kid who was doing nothing wrong...he was just walking along, minding his own business. To get the state to act wrongly and unilaterally where the locals refused to act because the evidence supported Zimmerman. So the state...grandstanding and kow towing to the lowest common denominator appointed the State Attorney to try the case and brought charges against Zimmerman where there should have been none. Why? Political grandstanding. This was to score points to keep people in office.

Apparently in the last couple Science Fiction Writers Association[from here on in simply SFWA] newsbulletins has some things that people found offensive. Why? I don't know because it's a private publication, I haven't read the entries that are supposed to be so offensive. Why? because so far of the entries I've look up...not a single fucking person has bothered to REPRINT IN FULL the offending articles, for those of us reading their rant's to peruse! Frankly this shit is starting to annoy me. Some people are just alluding to what was said...using loaded words like "racism" and sexism" . Which as we all know is simply the attempt of someone without a shred of logical argument or facts to back them up To use those words to silence the people that disagree with them or deflect the argument by inflaming peoples emotions so they don't actually think things through.
Some when this argument started with SFWA Bulletin issue #199[according to most of what I've read] posted 140 character excerpts from it to twitter. Notice I said excerpts...NOT links to the actual articles.. Some have taken to their blogs to rant. Yet so far the only thing I've seen really outside of those is a scan of the 1st couple paragraphs in issue 199 and that was highly complimentary to Mary Shelly, saying that Frankenstein was the first true sci fi story written but that many wouldn't recognize it as such[instead seeing it as simply horror] so they'd stick to what most people would recognize as sci fi
John Scalzi current president of the SFWA printed a Mea Culpa and directed the editor of it the bulletin to "create a task force" to look into the this matter. So he created a task force? Doesn't that sound awesomely like doing something? Now as anyone who follows US politics knows..."creating a task force" is code for "we're going to come up with more rules for you sheep to follow so that the so called 'offender' is silenced, which will make you sheep happy...but will further enslave you so stupid it's almost funny, sheep. Man you dumbshits are easy to fleece." Which is...sadly given the known political leanings of the SFWA's president and as far as I can tell with the suspected poltical leanings of the "offended" I'm afraid is probably exactly what's gonna happen here.
See...here is my whole problem with this whole brouhaha. By writing and spreading all these tirades publicly instead of; as one writer I read, who suggested 'keeping it in the family and asking the editors to let them write a rebuttal in the next issue or even have a sit down and go round with the authors of the offending article and some of those upset by it, and then printing that 'sit down' in it's entirety in the following issue...they seem to me to in effect being to try to "shame" the supposed 'offenders' into silence. One of the thing that the "accusers and mortally offended" fools are upset about is that while keeping it in the family the two offenders got word of all the bitching and wrote a rebuttal to it, keeping it in the family and told them they were seeing things not there...therefore the problem lies with the accuser...not the 'offenders'
Here's my other problem...in the several blog posts I've read in regards to this ...not a SINGLE. SOLITARY.. ACCUSER has had the good graces...or the brass tits[all the accusers so far that I've read are women with one exception in the page and a half of google results so far]] big enough...to reprint the offending articles in full! Not. A, One! All they do is post links that link back to each other! Not a single one has bothered to post the ARTICLES in their entirety so that we the public; Can make a calm rational decision and have a calm rational discussion about this. BTW by 'public' I mean those of us seeing this who are also writers...irregardless of what kind of genre we write in, and no full disclosure..I'm the other half of this equation. The other half of the 'public' being those like me...the READERS. Many of us who are not just fans of authors but actual FRIENDS of authors in the business as well.
Seems to me all these ladies [seriously one of the things these idiots are supposedly offended by is the use of the word 'ladies' as it pertains to editors, writers and publishers of the female persuasion??} have their knickers in a twist and are not sharing the full story thus shaping the narrative and in effect..TWISTING IT! So that it serves their purposes. Sorry ladies. You really should have tried to go the calm rational route 1st and asked the editor of the bulletin to let you respond in an article or have a round table discussion or series of round table discussions, with you, and another of those that feel like you, along with Resnick and Malzberg to be published in a following issue. Bringing it all out into the open yes...but still keeping it in the family. Yeah I know regular readers...me suggesting something rational in the middle of a diatribe?] Now I'm afraid that no matter WHAT the truth is...you're going to get roundly and soundly hammered into a mulched cow shit, by those who have leapt to Mike Resnick and Barry Malzberg' s defense. Shot yourselves in the foot you did. Thought before leaping off the cliff you should have. You may still get your way in the matter. Was just on the fb page of one of the affiliates up in Austin. Apparently they pronounced Gosnell's sentence already.
"Wait...they weren't supposed to start deliberations on it til next week! How is this possible?" you ask?
Well my first thought was that maybe he waived the jury option and threw himself on the mercy of the judge...then I remembered Gosnelll called the judge a racist bastards so that left that out. Then I read the article.
Apparently either Gosnell told his attorney or his attorney convinced Gosnell to let the attorney go to the prosecutors and let the attorney bargain with them. The bargain? Gosnell would waive ALL RIGHT to an appeal if they'd take the Death Penalty off the table. Apparently the prosecutors office went for it.
So Gosnell was sentenced to 2 life sentences without possibility of parole. Now, while I'm not thrilled with his deal I understand the reasoning behind accepting it.
Gosnell with all the appeals would be long dead of old age anyway before sentence could be carried out. I know this to be a realistic possibility because there are some old fuckers here in Texas on Death Row that have been there since it's inception. Put it this way...their prisoner numbers are double and triple digits as opposed to the mix of numerals and numbers it's been for years and years now. They've been in THAT long.
Now according to my old man who I chatted with briefly about this with a few minutes ago said that if that's the case, shit just may get real interesting. Roe V. Wade interesting.. According to some of the analysts it's possible conservatives may get their shit together and go to the United States Supreme Court [USSC] and try and get Roe V, Wade overturned and tossed out. One of their star witnesses if they do this could probably be Gosnell himself and he'd testify in front of the USSC against Roe V. Wade. That abortion is infanticide, murder on a grand scale because babies are viable human beings long before they leave the womb. evidence? video of a late term aborted baby that was cut out of it's mother swimming round in a toilet bowl before it died, ultrasound pictures of babies in the womb[and how many of us haven't seen those..one my friends just put up one of her unborn child sucking it's thumb.] so on and so forth.

What did she do? she mixed a couple household chemicals in a water bottle to try and make, I think...a smoke bomb.
"16-year-old Kiera Wilmot is accused of mixing housing chemicals in a
small water bottle at Bartow High School, causing the cap to fly off and
produce a bit of smoke. The experiment was conducted outdoors, no property was damaged, and no one was injured. Not long after Wilmot’s experiment, authorities arrested her and charged
her with “possession/discharge of a weapon on school property and
discharging a destructive device,” according to WTSP-TV. The school
district proceeded to expel Wilmot for handling the “dangerous weapon,”
also known as a water bottle. She will have to complete her high school
education through an expulsion program"
So...a kid decides to experiment, to test, to open her mind...and they destroy her for it? Lets look a the charge. BY the way these charges mean they are charging her as an adult.
Florida statute 790.115 lists Possession/discharge of a weapon on school grounds is a 3rd degree FELONY carrying a maximum $5000 fine and a prison term of up to 5 years. with the 2nd charge of discharge of a destructive device that's ANOTHER fine and another possible 5years in prison!
so for being an inquisitive child, for conducting an experiment...they are going to possibly send her to PRISON for 10yrs.
There was a time this would not have phased anyone. people would build home made rockets and make home made rocket fuel and launch rockets to conduct experiments. JESUS JUMPING H CHRIST POGO STICKING ACROSS THE ROCKIES ON A CROSS, PEOPLE!! I built my own rocket for shop class in MIDDLE school in the early 90's and they provided the booster with the fuel in it, for crying out loud! I played with balloons and flammable gases. I thought up things in my mind and built/created them. I *gasp!* shot the odd rifle/pistol growing up. I built ramps for jumping bikes,......and ended up misjudging and landing in the tree on occasion. I learned to pop and ride wheelies and in the doing of it, I got injured, compressed my tail bone, concussed myself, bruised myself more than a bit. I had, and used a sling shot. I read lots of books and *GASP!!!* learned to think for my fucking self! Oh my god, the world is going to end.
Let us pray that the authorities and the school district come to their senses. Personally I doubt it. school administrators it seems, aren't known for having functioning brains with more than 4 brain cells to rub together and the school boards at this late stage in the game aren't much better me thinks.

An honor student. An eagle scout...2 WEEKS from graduating. Now? The kid forgot he'd left the unloaded shotgun in the truck and tried to do the right thing. For that he's been expelled for a year so he's got to wait 12 months so he can finish 2 WEEKS and graduate. On top of that he's been arrested and charged with a felony[having a gun on school grounds] Guess some animals are more equal than others though because a school administrator at that same school brought a loaded gun to school and left it in her car. What happened to her? 3 days suspension. Anyone else see the cognitive dissonance here Shades of Animal Farm and 1984 This is all pure unadulterated bullshit. neither of these kids should be going through what they're going through because school admins and school policies are dumber than cows chewing cud in the field. Time and past time to slaughter these particular cows me thinks and have a barbeque.

It appears like Cole is going to get to go to the college he wanted to. He wasn't originally going to be able to go because he couldn't afford it. Chancellor of Liberty University, saw Cole's story, did some digging and then contacted Cole. The Chancellor was impressed with Cole told him they'd do whatever was necessary to make sure he got to come to Liberty University for his education. to quote the chancellor's statement. It's a $160,000 "full ride" scholarship
