Rep. Gabrielle Giffords..some food for thought
I know no one even wants to think this..considering the miraculous speed with which she's starting to recover but..it's gotta be said. You have to keep in the back of your mind, the chance that she may not be able to return to congress to fulfill her duties. She took a bullet through the brain boys and girls...the fact she's even conscious is miraculous. It may turn out that when they take the trach tube out she'll prove to be her normal self and speechify elequently to her family and then America to prove. However....I've heard no news of her asking for pen and paper [or a whiteboard and erasable dry marker] to communicate with. I say that not to bring you down, or take away from the miracle of it all.
I say it because IF she can't go back and perform her duties , the Arizona will need to hold a special election to fill her seat. Which begs the question..what kind of replacement is the state going to end up with? Who are the likely candidates if this comes to pass?

Citizens carrying guns.
Time and time again..any time a tragic shooting happens. we get the calls for stiffer gun control laws, banning certain types of ammo, guns and accessories.
Virginia Tech, Columbine, The latest shooting of Rep Giffords and 13 others.
Time and time again the same people, liberal democrat politicians[hypocrites almost all because if you do some digging you'll find those screaming the loudest either own and carry guns or...have armed security.] gun control advocates like the Brady Group, Hollywood nitwits, etc, etc ad nauseum..call for gun control.
Now I'm all for control..a good grip..the right breathing technique and gently squeeze the trigger. Don't 'pull' the trigger..you'll only spoil your shot. Time and time again a lot of where these shootings happen are so called "Gun Free" Zones. Schools, shopping centers, government offices. I and others keep TELLING people that "Gun Free Zone equals Target Rich Environment" to the loons out there; and as usual..I and others who say that are held in contempt. Even as we're proven right every single time. Frankly I get sick of it.
One town in Georgia, Kennesaw, in the 80's took a different take on gun control laws. In response to a gun ban in Illinois they passed a city ordinance that required heads of households to own and maintain a gun. The crime rate dropped something like 85-90% overnight and the crime rate has remained ridiculously low..some almost 30yrs later even as the town has grown. Guntown USA..the liberal retards dubbed it. Predicting shootouts between fueding neighbors, children being shot for doing something stupid etc etc ad nauseum. As usual the liberal fucktards were proven wrong in spades.

If you read farther down in the article you'll find that crime rate is lower than it was in 1981 before they passed the law..despite having grown by a multiple of 6. current population is just over 30k. Boggles the mind don't it?
I think if I was ever to consider leaving the great state of Texas[not likely but..never say never] I might consider moving to Kennesaw.
To my fellow citizen who believe in the 2nd Amendment and enjoy shooting..keep your powder dry because considering the news of the lst 2-3 years I think we're in for some truly ugly times. Lets Discuss Civility.
Or not. Last night I made the mistake of watching the Tuscon Memorial service. That was NOT a memorial service in my book. It was..IMNSHO...a liberal rally. Such speakers at a memorial service as Eric Holder[Obama's AG, Janet Napolitano[oh look ANOTHER obama appointee], a couple others and President Obama himself. What did they all have in common? They all spoke about raising the civility level in the political discourse and dialing down the rhetoric. Uhmmm excuse me? The only ones really raising the roof on that score have been the liberal majority and the democrat party's propaganda arm, otherwise known as the Main Stream Media. Telling lies, outright lies and goddamn lies.
THE ONLY Obama-ite who should have been there was President Obama himself. None of his cabinet ministers etc. The only ones who should have spoken at that memorial were friends and family members of the victims...everyone else should shut the hell up and sit the hell down. Politicians have no place at a memorial for murder victims..they only use it as a meet, greet, political hammering session. As was proved last night.
The ones raising the rhetoric level are those on the left. Don't believe me? Go look up ANY article posted that day about the shooting, a short while after the shooting..and VERY shortly after that, in the comments section, will be statements that it's Sarah Palin's fault, it's Rush Limbaugh's fault, It's Bush's fault, Its the fault of the Tea Party and their hate speech[snort], it's the fault of talk radio, It was a conspiracy headed by Karl Rove, etc etc ad nauseum. No I didn't actually see that last one but I have no doubt it's out there. I can only stand to wade thru so much sewage and stupidity, without wanting to beat the crap out of people who are obviously entirely too stupid to be allowed to breathe the same air as the rest of us. Then there were the idiots on the left using this tragedy as a political hammer to call for yet MORE gun control/gun grab laws. *facepalm*

Rep Garbrielle Gifford [Arizona] Shot!.
Yep another crazed gunman went off. Nothing is known about him at this time except his name Jared Laughner, that and the fact he shot 14 people. 5 of whom are at this time confirmed dead..including a 9yr old girl. Sigh..I will now wait for the very swift to come calls..for tougher gun laws. Now to counteract that may I point out that it wasn't the cops who took this man down..but Citizens..one of whom was *gasp!* armed and returned fire...thereby allowing a couple others to tackle this gunman and hold him til the cops could arrive? Haven't watched the other channels coverage of this..just Fox..however..I seriously doubt that little factoid is getting much play on the Massively Stupid Media channels like MSNBC, CNBC, CNN and elsewhere. After I post this I'll do a little websurfing and see if there is already a resurgence of calls for tougher gun control laws by the retarded left bloggers.

Time to start stocking up on incandescent bulbs
Why do I say this? because after 2012 the sale of same will be banned. In favor of CFL bulbs. You know? The bulbs that look like [as my friend over at Common Cents says] looks like a Curly Fry? Made in China and filled with mercury?
I do think I'm going to start and start soon..as in immediate, to buy in bulk and hoard incandescent bulbs.
